Christmas; The Best Gift

Imahe
My Christmas vacation was very happy. I enjoyed it because I was with my family, and that was the best gift I could ever have. We did a lot and my heart filled with love and gratitude. Christmas is all about love and giving and that's the essence of Christmas. We started our celebration by having lunch together. In the afternoon we prepared food for Noche Buena. We cooked such as spaghetti, fried chicken, and fruit salad. In the evening, we wore our Christmas clothes and went to church for the Christmas Eve Mass. The church looked beautiful, and the mass reminded us of the true meaning of Christmas. After the mass, we went home and waited for midnight. When it was finally Christmas, we greeted each other and enjoyed our Noche Buena. We ate, played games, and exchanged gifts. It was a night full of fun and happiness. The next morning, we went to a swimming pool to continue our celebration. It was a fun way to enjoy the holiday. In conclusion, Christmas is about love and giving. I enj...

Imahe
One of the most critical global issues is Violence Against Women (VAW), which affects millions of women not only in the Philippines but around the world. According to recent data, nearly 1 out of 5 women have experienced some form of violence. This issue must be addressed, and in the Philippines, the 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women is observed, coinciding with National Women's Month. During this period, the significance of laws like RA 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997) and RA 7877 (The Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995) is highlighted as crucial steps in protecting women and ensuring their safety. RA 8353, or The Anti-Rape Law of 1997, is a significant piece of legislation aimed at protecting women from sexual violence. The law redefined rape by removing the requirement for victims to physically resist their attacker, which was previously used to determine whether an act could be classified as rape. This change ensures that victims are not blamed for their trauma and...

Protect the Earth: Resilience as the Wand of Every Filipino

Imahe
Climate change is one of the biggest problem not only in the Philippines but all over the world. This is most challenging for Filipinos because of its effects, such as rising global temperatures, more frequent typhoons, and unpredictable weather patterns. The adversities have never disheartened these persevering people and thus made them strong enough to face all odds. One of the major causes of climate change is deforestation and the lack of discipline among most people when it comes to the environment. Cutting down trees for urban development, agriculture, or illegal logging damages the Earth significantly, reducing the natural protections against floods and heat. This problem also affects farmers, who suffer during typhoons as their crops get destroyed, jeopardizing their source of income and threatening the food supply in the country. In the past few weeks, we experienced several typhoons, but Filipinos have really displayed strong resilience. Communities come together and reb...
