Protect the Earth: Resilience as the Wand of Every Filipino

Imahe
Climate change is one of the biggest problem not only in the Philippines but all over the world. This is most challenging for Filipinos because of its effects, such as rising global temperatures, more frequent typhoons, and unpredictable weather patterns. The adversities have never disheartened these persevering people and thus made them strong enough to face all odds. One of the major causes of climate change is deforestation and the lack of discipline among most people when it comes to the environment. Cutting down trees for urban development, agriculture, or illegal logging damages the Earth significantly, reducing the natural protections against floods and heat. This problem also affects farmers, who suffer during typhoons as their crops get destroyed, jeopardizing their source of income and threatening the food supply in the country. In the past few weeks, we experienced several typhoons, but Filipinos have really displayed strong resilience. Communities come together and reb...

Stop the violence, Spread love!

Imahe
"Kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan," Jose Rizal onced said. Children should be cherished and feel the love that they deserve. Unfortunately, some kids are subjected to violence such as physical abuse, neglect, and bullying. These may significantly affect their well-being and have dangerous consequences like self-harm or even suicide. Exposure to violence may hinder a child's education and damage his/her mental health. To address this, strengthen the measures that already are in place, and spread awareness to protect these innocent children. Child labor is the most pressing casualty of the effects of violence, which must stop now. Laws such as the Republic Act No. 7610 or the "Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act," and Republic Act No. 9231, which focuses on eliminating the worst forms of child labor, have been put in place for children's rights to be ensured. However, that is not only the government's role; rat...

Every Chapter

Imahe
Almost everyone sees me as a jolly person, though some judge me because I’m too noisy. But each day, I face my own battles. People only know me based on the person I choose to present. With that in mind, I would describe myself as a book—a reflection of my true self. "Extrovert" is the term they use to describe me, but for me, the word "book" is more accurate. They only know the first page of my story, the part I choose to show. They may know me, but they don’t truly understand me; it's like judging a book without reading it. My life is like a book; you can’t understand it without analyzing each chapter. Just sit beside me and listen to my rants. Understand each chapter of my life, from what I’ve been through to how I’ve managed to survive. In conclusion, it's easy to judge someone without knowing every part of them. But if you take the time to understand, you'll see why I am the way I am.

Resilience: The spirit of every Filipinos

Imahe
“The Filipino is worth dying for,” said former Philippine President Corazon Aquino. Many calamities have passed, and our resilience remains strong. In every crisis, we Filipinos support each other through ups and downs. Despite these challenges, we remain strong and helpful. Even though we may have little left, we still find ways to assist one another. Today, I want to tackle the causes of our resilience, how these challenges affect our lives, and how we overcome them. But wait! What are the causes of calamities? Two major causes are natural disasters, such as typhoons, floods, and earthquakes. Next is climate change, which leads to more intense effects, like rising sea levels that increase the risk of flooding in coastal communities, among other issues. These causes present crucial challenges, as they affect daily life, shelter, work, and can even threaten lives. In response, resilience plays a big role during these times, with Filipinos rescuing and helping one another. The governme...
