This year marks the 27th anniversary of the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA), a significant law that protects the rights of Indigenous communities. With the theme “Mga Katutubo at Katutubong Dunong: Pahalagahan, Pangalagaan at Parangalan,” this celebration emphasizes valuing, nurturing, and honoring Indigenous knowledge and traditions.
This is a crucial event for Indigenous Peoples as it provides an opportunity to recognize their contributions and highlight the importance of their cultures. Through school activities and community programs, we can raise awareness, showcase their traditions, and bring their stories to life. These efforts help eliminate discrimination and foster unity, encouraging all Filipinos to live harmoniously as one.
